about

A song about love in all its forms, whatever the circumstances, holding onto it and counting blessings despite the bumps in the road.
"Let's watch the moon rise above the hills across the valley far away.
Beneath the sycamores below the stars above us holding on to Tinfoil Rings."
John and I wrote this one after we were lucky enough to be included in our friend's wedding. The rings were misplaced and a family member came to the rescue with a sheet of tinfoil to fashion some until the official ones could be relocated. It was magic and we wrote this song inspired by that situation.

About the Recording:
Respect to all the independent artists and small businesses out there betting on themselves. Making and releasing original music is at times both a joy and very challenging. Community building has always been our go to and this story is no different.
Enter our beautiful Kentucky music family.
This track really started with our trip to Jackson, KY and coming to see Sam Rogers at FAT CAVE STUDIOS. Check them out! The Raddest. We packed up Grandpa's old truck and set out to the most beautiful place. I really cannot possibly tell you enough good about Sam and our experience recording with him. He has been the most patient and professional navigating all my low tech questions and delays and just more than you probably care to learn about, in all honesty. Go record with him!
Anyhow, here's a live take from the way back machine.. We love this silly song and hope you will too.

About the Art:
This art started out as an idea to promote our YouTube channel series "Tailgate Sessions" I reached out to everyone's favorite, Jimbo Valentine. This man is an experienced pro and it shows, made it real easy and awesome. He sent us just what we asked for and we were thrilled. Not long after, the truck broke down and Tailgate Sessions took a backseat. Time passed and this art sat when finally, inspiration struck! I reached out to Jimbo to see if he would work his magic again and here we are. Cover art for our From The Vault Sessions. Recorded at a time when we toured in the old Dakota and were happy as clams about it. I cannot thank him enough for commemorating my Grandpa's truck and making it all come together. You'll be seeing more as we release more from this session. Jimbo for President! Check him out at Amalgam Art.

lyrics

Let's watch the moon rise above the hills across the valley far away. Above the sycamores, below the stars above us, holding on by tinfoil rings. Tinfoil rings, our tinfoil rings. They remind us of the little things like keeping the fire burning in the pouring rain.Holding on by Tinfoil Rings.
Never had many worldly treasures, never had much money to spare but we have had our share of trouble and the world keeps spinning, holding on by tinfoil rings.
Sometimes it feels like we are miles apart, babe. Sometimes it feels like we are joined at the heart. We've dealt with a lot of junk but we've had a little bit of luck, found a few dreams with our tinfoil rings. Tinfoil rings, our tinfoil rings. they remind us of the little things. Like keeping the fire burning in the pouring rain. Holding on by tinfoil rings.
